The Next Day

High school student Yui invites her friend Kaede over to her backyard to watch a meteor shower said to come around only once every few decades. Her father Yuichi decides it’s a great excuse for a barbecue and starts the preparations, but someone named Tatsuhiko, Yui’s mother Kimiko’s second cousin, shows up unexpectedly. As this bizarre spring feast takes off, uninvited neighbor Nakamura as well as Kimiko’s close friend Sawada also end up in the mix. Late that night, a phone call will reveal a shocking truth.
